Atishi’s cabinet has inducted five members from Arvind Kejriwal’s cabinet. Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Imran Hussain, and Mukesh Ahlawat have retained their posts, with Ahlawat being the only new addition.
Gopal Rai, previously the Minister of Environment, Forest and Wildlife, Development, and Public Administration under Kejriwal, also served as the President of Delhi’s State Unit. He currently represents Babapur in Northeast Delhi as an MLA.
In 2015, Kailash Gehlot was elected to the Delhi Assembly for the first time, winning from Najafgarh. Under Kejriwal, she handled portfolios like Transport, Revenue, Law, Women and Child Development, and Information and Technology.
Saurabh Bhardwaj, the MLA from Greater Kailash, continues to serve as the Minister of Health, Urban Development, Tourism, Arts and Culture, Industries, and Irrigation and Flood Control.
Imran Hussain, who represents the Ballimaran Assembly constituency, secured victory in the 2020 elections by defeating a five-time MLA. He was the Minister of Food and Public Distribution in Kejriwal’s cabinet.
After Social Welfare Minister Raj Kumar Anand resigned, Mukesh Ahlawat, the MLA from Sultanpur Majra, took his place. Ahlawat won the 2020 elections by over 48,000 votes and is a fresh face in Atishi’s cabinet.
Today, Atishi took oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi, along with five cabinet ministers. Viceroy Vinay Kumar Saxena administered their oath of office and secrecy. So, who are the five MLAs now serving in Atishi’s cabinet?
