The Deputy Chief Minister, Phamagi Parida, announced that beneficiaries will receive the first instalment of the third phase of ‘Subhadra’ by the end of November, benefiting over 20 lakh individuals.
During a high-level committee meeting on Subhadra held yesterday evening, the government assigned BIDIO as the nodal agency to re-evaluate the applications of 2 lakh 67 thousand beneficiaries that had received rejection. A three-member committee, led by the district welfare officer, will oversee this process at the district level.
The government will reject applications from individuals owning more than 5 acres of land. Tahsildars will detain the Revenue Inspector (RI) at those locations for verification. The government aims to ensure that no eligible beneficiaries miss out on the scheme. Among the rejected applications, some eligible beneficiaries will likely emerge, allowing them to receive Subhadra funds in the third phase.
The Deputy Chief Minister noted that most rejections stemmed from land ownership issues. Others faced dismissal due to government employment or lack of bank links. The verification process will rectify these issues, and eligible beneficiaries will receive their payments promptly. Anganwadi workers will inform those whose applications were rejected. If land ownership leads to rejection, the Tahsildar and the RI will conduct checks. For issues related to bank links, the bank will verify the connections.
The Deputy Chief Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to simplifying the delivery of Subhadra benefits. The newly formed three-member committee will ensure this process is efficient and completed promptly. By the end of December, more than 1 crore women are set to receive Subhadra funds.
