Cyclone ‘Asana,’ formed in the East Arabian Sea, has hit Telangana hard, causing major disruptions. Heavy rain has been pouring down across the state since Sunday morning, leading to widespread flooding and damage.
Many railway tracks are now underwater, making them unusable in several areas. This has caused serious disruptions in railway traffic. The Railways have canceled many trains, while others have been rerouted to avoid the flooded sections.
The cyclone started as a low-pressure area near the Kutch coast of Pakistan and the North East Arabian Sea. It then turned into Cyclone ‘Asana’ and moved towards Telangana, bringing heavy rain with it. On Sunday, the downpour led to severe flooding between Kesamudram and Mahbubabad, submerging the railway line and causing extensive damage.
In response, authorities immediately stopped all trains running from Vijayawada to Warangal, Warangal to Vijayawada, and Delhi to Vijayawada to keep passengers safe. Due to the flooding, many trains were canceled, and several others were rerouted to minimize disruptions and ensure safety.
