Mission Shakti women have prepared 54 lakh triangles this year for the ‘Harghar Triranga’ campaign, exceeding last year’s total by about 10 lakh. This nationwide initiative, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call, underscores the increasing role of self-reliant women in promoting national pride.
Deputy Chief Minister Phamagi Parida praised the effort, stating, “Triranga preparation for Harghar Triranga represents not only responsible stewardship but also the identity of self-reliant women in a self-reliant India.” She highlighted that these triangles, crafted with devotion, reflect the dreams and aspirations of thousands of women in Odisha.
Mission Force Secretary Shalini Pandit added, “The women members of Mission Force, driven by their skill and dedication, have produced 54 lakh triranga this year. All these triranga will be ready for distribution by August.” She noted that in 2022, Mission Shakti and Bhatpadak Group members were tasked with creating 30 lakh triangles, which they completed on time. Last year, Mission Shakti women prepared 44.2 lakh triranga.
Additionally, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will lead a ‘Harghar Triranga’ march tomorrow at 9 am, starting from Bhajan Mandap near Lingaraj Temple and ending at Rajeshwar Temple. The campaign encourages every Indian family to display the tricolor at their homes from August 9 to 15, as part of the nationwide celebration.
