A controversy has erupted in Himachal Pradesh politics over the disappearance of samosas from Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukh’s plate. Former Chief Minister and BJP leader Jairam Thakur mocked the incident by hosting a “samosa party” with BJP workers at the Mandir Circuit House.
The issue began when Sukhwinder Singh reportedly instructed the CID to investigate why his samosas, ordered for him, were served to his security personnel instead. In response, Thakur organized the samosa party and mocked the situation in a viral video. Thakur, the leader of the opposition in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly, criticized the Chief Minister, saying, “The whole country now knows what the Himachal government prioritizes.”
The incident unfolded on October 21 when Sukhwinder Singh arrived at the CID headquarters to attend an event. Three boxes of samosas and cakes were ordered for him, but the food ended up being served to his security staff. Allegedly, the Chief Minister then ordered the CID to investigate the matter.
However, CID officials refuted the allegations, claiming the issue was internal and did not warrant public discussion. Director General of Himachal Pradesh CID, Sanjeev Ranjan, dismissed the controversy, stating that questions about the missing breakfast box should not be entertained.
