The Income Tax Department raided the house of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s Personal Adviser, Sunil Srivastava, and his associates this morning. The department conducted searches at 16-17 locations linked to Srivastava, his family members, and affiliates.
Sunil Srivastava, under scrutiny by the Income Tax Department, had several properties raided in Ranchi and Jamshedpur. The IT team also reached his residence in Ashok Nagar, Ranchi. The Income Tax Department is conducting this raid as a significant move ahead of the upcoming elections. A video has surfaced showing officers conducting the raid at Srivastava’s house.
Earlier, on October 14, in connection with the Jal Jan Mission scam, the Directorate of Transformation raided properties linked to Vinay Thakur, the brother of Cabinet Minister Mitesh Thakur, as well as the private secretary Harendra Singh and several engineers from the department.
Jharkhand will hold elections in two phases, with voters casting their ballots on November 13 and 20, and the results will be announced on November 23.
