Today, the auction for the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to take place in Dubai. The auction proceedings will commence on day one, with a total of 333 players participating, and 10 franchises bidding for them. From the 1166 players registered, 333 have been chosen for the auction process.
Among the notable Indian players participating are Harsal Patel, Umesh Yadav, and Shardul Thakur. The auction marks a significant moment for England’s Harry Brook, who was previously part of the Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League and is now in the IPL auction for the first time.
In terms of franchise values, the Gujarat Titans lead with a whopping INR 38.15 billion. Following closely are the Sunrisers Hyderabad with INR 40.75 billion, Kolkata Knight Riders with INR 32.07 billion, and Chennai Super Kings with INR 31.04 billion. Punjab Kings pocketed INR 29.1 billion, while Delhi Capitals stand at INR 28.95 billion, and Mumbai Indians at INR 15.25 billion.
Additionally, Royal Challengers Bangalore is valued at INR 40.75 billion, Sunrisers Hyderabad at INR 34 billion, Kolkata Knight Riders at INR 32.07 billion, Chennai Super Kings at INR 31.04 billion, Punjab Kings at INR 29.1 billion, Delhi Capitals at INR 28.95 billion, and Mumbai Indians at INR 15.25 billion.
In preparation for the 2024 IPL, Delhi Capitals has signaled its interest in acquiring the services of Rishabh Pant. The announcement has generated anticipation about which players will join the squad through the auction.
