Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu mourned the death of Ratan Tata, the former chairman of the Tata Group. In a post on X on Saturday, he addressed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizing Ratan Tata’s crucial role in strengthening relations between Israel and India.
Netanyahu wrote, “Ratan Tata, India’s proud son. I and many in Israel mourn the passing of Ratan Naval Tata, a proud son of India and a champion of friendship between our two countries.” Additionally, he offered his condolences to Tata’s family and praised the industrialist’s enduring legacy.
Ratan Tata passed away on October 9 at the age of 86 while receiving treatment at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. Following his death, the state cremated him with honors in the city.
Born on December 28, 1937, in Mumbai, Tata gained recognition for his business acumen and philanthropic efforts. As chairman of Tata Sons, he elevated the Tata Group onto the global stage by acquiring major companies like Jaguar Land Rover and Tetley. Furthermore, he received the Padma Vibhushan in 2008 for his contributions.
In addition to Netanyahu, numerous world leaders joined in mourning Ratan Tata’s passing. For example, German Ambassador to India Philipp Ackermann described Tata as a “wonderful person” and a “brilliant entrepreneur,” stating that his death represents a significant loss for India.
Similarly, French President Emmanuel Macron conveyed his condolences, asserting that Tata’s leadership advanced industries in both India and France. Notably, Macron praised Tata’s “humanitarian vision” and his lifelong commitment to social betterment.
