JJP in Crisis: Five MLAs Leave as Election Pressure Mounts

The path of the Jannayak Janata Party, which made a strong performance in Haryana Assembly Elections 2019 (Haryana Assembly Elections 2024), is not easy this time. Right after the announcement of assembly elections, five MLAs of the party have said goodbye to Dushyant Chautala. A similar stampede took place in Chirag Paswan’s Lok Jan Shakti Party in Bihar during the Lok Sabha elections (Lok Sabha Chunav 2024). Many party leaders left the party before the Lok Sabha elections in April. More or less now it belongs to the JJP, which has been in power for four and a half years in Haryana.

Actually, Manohar Lal Khattar was removed from the post of CM in Haryana by BJP. After this, Haryana got a CM as a new Naib Saini. Saini formed a government alone bypassing the JJP and broke the alliance with the JJP. After these political events, the period of upheaval in JJP started. Two MLAs of JJP had openly said that they would support BJP. But now the party has split as soon as the election is announced.

Five MLAs of JJP have left the party since the announcement of assembly elections. MLA from Guhla Chika Ishwar Singh, former panchayat minister Tohana MLA Devender Babli, Anup Dhanak from Ukalana, Ram Karan Kala from Shahabad and Jogi Ram Sihag from Barwala resigned. On Wednesday, Ramkaran Kala also joined the Congress in Delhi. Apart from this, Pala Ram Saini, who was JJP’s Lok Sabha candidate from Kurukshetra, said goodbye to JJP. In such a situation, there has been a stampede in Dushyant’s party.

Dushyant Chautala’s party won 10 seats in the 2019 assembly elections in Haryana. During this time, JJP became the kingmaker and formed the government with BJP. Dushyant Chautala was made Deputy CM. JJP got 14.9 percent votes in the 2019 assembly elections. But this time in the Lok Sabha elections, all the JJP candidates’ bail was forfeited and they got only 0.87 percent votes. In such a situation, seeing the popularity of JJP, everyone is leaving. On the question of the MLAs leaving the JJP, Dushyant Chautala said two days ago that the JJP had left no shortage in giving respect to the MLAs and they will not get more respect than the JJP, so what was the reason for leaving the party. You will be able to tell the same.

Chirag Paswan also had seizures during the Lok Sabha elections in Bihar. He was marginalized by the BJP. Also Chirag was having a dispute with his uncle and more than 20 leaders of this party left him. But Chirag’s party had performed strongly in the Lok Sabha elections and won five seats. Earlier, Chirag’s party had split in 2020 and uncle Pashupati Nath Paras had taken a separate path.
