Actress Kangana Ranaut has voiced her discontent with the West Bengal government’s handling of crimes against women. In a recent interview with India Today, Kangana criticized the response to the recent rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata, calling it “shameful.” She urged the adoption of Uttar Pradesh’s justice model under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, which she described as more effective.
Kangana noted that while crimes may be similar across states, the responses differ significantly. She expressed support for Adityanath’s controversial but reportedly effective methods, stating, “Fear is the only solution.” She highlighted that in Uttar Pradesh, justice is often served within a week, contrasting this with the situation in Bengal.
Kangana accused the Bengal government of protecting criminals while students and women face increasing harassment. The tragic incident at RG Kar hospital has heightened calls for improved safety and justice for women in the state.
