The CBI is intensifying its investigation into the rape and murder of a lady doctor in Kolkata. Former principal of RG Kar Hospital, Sandeep Ghosh, was interrogated for the third consecutive day. He left the CBI office late Sunday night after a 13-and-a-half-hour questioning session. Meanwhile, the main accused, Sanjay Roy, underwent a brain test, with another psychological test scheduled for Monday.
In a related development, West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose has requested a meeting with the Union Home Minister and Health Minister to discuss the case.
Protests continue in Kolkata, with Union Minister and BJP MP Sukanta Majumdar vowing to persist in their agitation until justice is served for the victim. In a separate event, the BJP Mahila Morcha organized a Rakhi program focused on women’s safety, where they plan to tie Rakhi to the Governor on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
