Milind Deora, a Rajya Sabha MP who recently switched from Congress to Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, will contest for the MLA seat in the Worli constituency. He aims to unseat Aditya Thackeray, the current MLA and son of Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, who won this seat in 2019.
The Shiv Sena announced candidates for 20 constituencies, including Sanjay Nirupam for Dindoshi and Nilesh Rane for Kudal, as part of the Maharashtra Assembly elections. This election features a competitive battle between Uddhav Thackeray’s Maha Vikas Aghadi, which includes Congress and Sharad Pawar’s NCP, and the Mahayuti coalition of Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar’s NCP.
Voters will head to the polls on November 20, with results expected on November 23.
