In Midnapur, West Bengal, a mob beat an accused molester to death on the spot. The villagers took the law into their hands, attacking the suspect before police arrival.
On October 4, the victim’s family reported that she went missing while grazing cattle behind her house. They alleged abduction and later found her critically injured and naked on the farm. The family claimed poisoning.
Local outrage escalated into violence. Villagers stormed the accused’s house, apprehended him, and brutally assaulted him. The beating continued for an hour before police intervened.
Police rescued the accused in a bleeding state and rushed him to Egra Super Specialist Hospital, where he succumbed to injuries.
Authorities registered a murder case and are investigating
