Nitish Kumar Confident JDU Will Win Over 220 Seats in 2025 Elections

On Saturday, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar confidently asserted that the Janata Dal (United) [JDU] will secure over 220 seats in the upcoming assembly elections slated for 2025. He made this declaration during a joint meeting with JDU’s state executive, state officials, MLAs, and Legislative Councilors at the JDU state office.

Kumar emphasized that since 2005, his government has prioritized the interests of all societal sections, launching numerous schemes aimed at the all-round development of the minority community, significantly benefiting poor minorities.

Highlighting advancements in the health sector, Kumar pointed out that the average monthly patient count at primary health centers rose from just 39 in 2005-06 to an impressive 11,000 today.

In terms of women empowerment, the Chief Minister celebrated the success of the Jeevika group, which has enabled 1.31 crore women to achieve self-reliance. He noted that women now enjoy 50 percent reservation in Panchayati Raj and local bodies, alongside a 35 percent reservation in all government jobs initiated in 2016.

Referring to the Saat Nishchay-2 initiative, Kumar stated that he had previously promised 10 lakh government jobs and 10 lakh employment opportunities by 2020, predicting that by 2025, this figure would rise to 12 lakh. He anticipated that employment opportunities could increase to 34 lakh.

During the JDU state executive meeting, Kumar expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for the special economic assistance received by Bihar. He criticized the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), stating that while JDU views all of Bihar as a family, others focus solely on their immediate kin.
