National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval will visit Russia for two days on September 10 and 11. During this visit, he will meet President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
Doval plans to discuss ending the conflict between Ukraine and Russia with President Putin. He will also attend the BRICS-NSA meeting. At this meeting, Doval will have talks with his Russian and Chinese counterparts.
The BRICS group includes 10 countries: Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iran, Egypt, and Ethiopia. The last BRICS-NSA meeting took place in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 2023, where Doval represented India.
In July, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Russia and met with President Putin. He also met Ukrainian President Zelensky in August. Despite these diplomatic efforts, conflict resumed between Ukraine and Russia.
Prime Minister Modi had informed President Putin in August that Ajit Doval would visit Russia to discuss peace.
