Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha on September 17, and preparations are in full gear. The Special Protection Group (SPG) has already arrived in the state to oversee the Prime Minister’s security. Eight SPG members landed at Bhubaneswar airport yesterday to manage security from his arrival at the airport to the main event at Janata Maidan.
The SPG team will inspect the security setup at Janata Maidan today, where Prime Minister Modi will launch the Subhadra Yojana and other public welfare schemes. Ahead of the visit, officials held a state-level preparatory meeting yesterday at the Lok Sabha building, led by the Chief Administrative Secretary.
Officials assigned the DGP and IGP to supervise law and order, while the Khurda District Collector will handle other key arrangements. To manage the large crowds expected in Bhubaneswar, authorities will install LED screens at various locations to ensure public viewing of the event. Fifty OAS officers will oversee crowd control efforts.
With just two days left, the administration is working to ensure the visit runs smoothly.
