Peel Regional Police arrested three individuals in connection with the Khalistani attack on devotees at the Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton, Canada. Additionally, they suspended a police officer who participated in the anti-Khalistani protest outside the temple.
The three arrested individuals, 23-year-old Vikas and 31-year-old Amritpal Singh, will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton. A fourth person was also arrested in connection with the case but has since been released.
Authorities verified a viral video showing an on-duty policeman demonstrating alongside Khalistani supporters outside the temple. This behaviour violated the Community Safety and Policing Act, prompting the suspension of police officer Harinder Sohi.
During the attack on the Hindu temple, Khalistani supporters assaulted worshipers with fists and sticks, severely injuring devotees while displaying the Khalistani flag. Surprisingly, when the police arrived at the scene, they failed to act against the attackers and instead assaulted the devotees. The incident sparked a strong reaction in India, with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau condemning the attack.
