Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strongly criticized the attack on a Hindu temple in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, calling it a cowardly attempt to intimidate Indian diplomats.
A video surfaced today showing Khalistani individuals breaking into the temple and attacking worshipers. In the footage, some attackers waved yellow flags as they entered the temple premises and created chaos, assaulting Hindu devotees in groups.
India has reacted strongly to the incident. Responding on X, Modi stated, “I strongly condemn the deliberate attack on a Hindu temple in Canada. This is also a hypocritical attempt to intimidate our diplomats. Such attacks or violence can never weaken India’s resolve. We hope that the Canadian government will ensure justice and uphold the law.”
Khalistani influence is growing in Canada, and this incident marks the first time Prime Minister Modi has publicly addressed the targeting of Hindus there. Previously, the foreign ministry also condemned the attack on the temple and expressed hope that Justin Trudeau’s government would provide equal and adequate protection to all religious institutions in Canada.
