Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced three advanced supercomputers named ‘Param Rudra,’ capable of performing calculations that typically take 500 years in just a few minutes. These supercomputers operate thousands of times faster than conventional computers.
Named after the Rudra incarnation of Mahadev, Modi highlighted that the availability of these supercomputers marks a significant milestone for the nation.
Engineers built the three supercomputers under the National Super Computing Mission, utilizing indigenous technology with an investment of ₹130 crores. They will deploy the supercomputers in Pune, Delhi, and Kolkata.
The supercomputers will enhance research in environmental and climate science, health, and space science. ‘Param Rudra’ will allow thousands of computers to work simultaneously, greatly accelerating computational capabilities across various fields.
