Priyanka Gandhi Faces Off Against BJP’s Navya Haridas in Wayanad By-Election

Voting is taking place today in 33 assembly seats across 11 states, including Bihar, Bengal, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Assam. The Wayanad Lok Sabha seat and Chelakkara Assembly seat in Kerala are also holding by-elections, with voting underway for both constituencies.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi is contesting the Wayanad by-election, facing BJP candidate Navya Haridas. Priyanka Gandhi emphasized that the people of Wayanad need a representative who can work on the ground and raise their issues in Parliament. He added, “Congress is trying to impress voters with kits, money, and liquor because they fear losing this election.”

In Chhattisgarh, the Raipur South assembly seat is also holding a by-election today, and excitement fills the air as voters head to the polling booths. Congress candidate Akash Sharma cast his vote with his family at the Sundernagar polling booth early in the morning.

In Karnataka, by-elections are being held in the Channapatna assembly seat. JDS leader Nikhil Kumaraswamy expressed confidence in his victory, stating, “For the past 18 days, the people have shown their faith in me. I believe the work of HD Deve Gowda and HD Kumaraswamy will help me win. The youth support me, and I trust the people of Channapatna will bless me.”

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra visited the polling station in Wayanad and appealed to voters, encouraging them to exercise their right to vote. She said, “I hope the people of Wayanad will give me a chance to repay their love and affection and work for them. I urge everyone to vote today and make their voices heard.”

On social media, Priyanka Gandhi posted, “My dear brothers and sisters, please vote today. It’s your day to choose your representative and exercise the greatest power given to you by our Constitution. Let’s build a better future together!”

In the Sehore district, voting for the Budhni Assembly by-election began at 7 a.m. Kartikeya Chauhan, son of Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, cast his vote and showed his inked finger. He urged voters to head to the polls, saying, “People should choose their representatives wisely, keeping education and employment in mind.”
