- Test Debut: Dhawan scored 187 runs on his Test debut against Australia in Mohali, the highest by an India debutant and the eighth-highest overall. His century came off just 85 balls, the fastest on debut.
- ODI Career: Dhawan averaged 44.11 in One Day Internationals (ODIs), amassing 6793 runs in 164 innings at a strike rate of 91.35. Among the 19 Indian batters with 3000 or more ODI runs, only Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, and Sachin Tendulkar have higher averages.
- Opening Partnerships: Dhawan formed 18 century partnerships with Rohit Sharma for the first wicket in ODIs, the second-most by any opening pair. The duo accumulated 5148 partnership runs, the fourth-highest among opening pairs.
