A woman has sparked a shocking incident in Uttar Pradesh. After observing Karwa Chauth, a festival dedicated to wishing for her husband’s long life, she fatally poisoned him.
Police at the Kada Dham station in Kaushambi district reported that 32-year-old Rakesh Kumar was killed by his wife, Savita. Suspecting her husband of having an affair, Savita took drastic action.
On Sunday, Savita fasted for Rakesh, refraining from food all day and praying for his well-being. However, tensions escalated between the couple, with arguments beginning in the morning over her suspicions. After completing her fast, the couple had another confrontation. Despite an initial lull in hostilities, Savita remained angry.
Savita then poisoned the food she served to Rakesh before leaving for a neighbor’s house. After consuming the tainted meal, Rakesh’s health rapidly deteriorated. His brother, Akhilesh, rushed him to the hospital, but Rakesh died during treatment. Before passing, he revealed that Savita had poisoned him, and Akhilesh mentioned there is a video recording of the incident.
Based on Akhilesh’s complaint, police have arrested Savita. Kaushambi SP Brijesh Kumar Srivastava confirmed that the incident occurred in Ismailpur village and that Savita is now suspected of murder following the family quarrel.
