On Wednesday, a shocking stabbing occurred at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. Ramesh, the attacker, targeted and killed flight crew member Ramakrishna by strangling him. Police swiftly arrested Ramesh, who smuggled a sharp weapon into the airport.
Ramesh boarded a BMTC bus and arrived at the airport with a weapon concealed in his bag. Security lapses allowed him to bypass scanning. Exploiting this flaw, Ramesh entered Terminal-1 and proceeded to the parking area. He then went to the toilet, where he ambushed 45-year-old Ramakrishna, a flight attendant. Ramesh attacked Ramakrishna with a knife and strangled him, creating immediate chaos and panic at the airport, according to the North East DCP.
The police confirmed that Ramesh’s attack was driven by personal animosity. Ramesh suspected Ramakrishna of having an affair with his wife and had plotted the attack for some time. Although he had attempted violence before, he finally succeeded while Ramakrishna was working.
Following the attack, police apprehended Ramesh and charged him with murder. The investigation is under process.
