The temple will close public viewing for 5 hours today for the “Srijeoman Bankalagi Niti” ritual.
On this auspicious Kartik Krishna Triyodashi Tithi, the “Sri Vigrahaman Banakalagi” or “Shrimukha Horna Niti” will take place. Starting after the second bhog mandap, the ritual will begin at 5 p.m. and continue until 10 p.m.
Shrimandi temple administration has prepared all essential materials for the Mahapatra sevayats. As the Bankalagi Niti is a confidential ritual, the main temple will remain closed to the public during this time.
With the sacred month of Kartik in progress, thousands of devotees visit the temple daily for darshan. Along with Kartik Vratis, other devotees also arrive to catch a glimpse of Lord Kalia. Devotees who travelled long distances await darshan, now postponed due to today’s 5-hour closure.
