Photo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be installed in all universities and colleges of the country. In addition, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked all universities and colleges to create their own selfie points.
In this regard, a letter published by UGC Secretary Manish Joshi said that these selfie points will create awareness among the youth about India’s achievements in various fields. This will develop a sense of collective pride for them. The letter was sent to the chancellors of all universities and college principals. The instruction is to set up a selfie point in your institution to celebrate and promote the remarkable progress our country has made. Its objective is to make the youth aware of India’s achievements in various fields, especially the new initiatives taken under the New Education Policy 2020.

The letter also states that students should be encouraged to take pictures at this point and share it on social media.
However, many educationists say that the UGC’s letter is politically motivated. Public institutions should not be used for such activities.
