The video of Sandeep Ghosh being slapped has gone viral. The former principal of Calcutta RG Medical College and Hospital. Despite police protection, Ghosh was attacked while leaving the court. A man in the crowd slapped him hard, causing severe injury.
The CBI arrested Sandeep Ghosh on Tuesday, accusing him of involvement in the murder of a Kolkata doctor. After the arrest, the CBI presented him in Alipur court, where a large crowd had gathered. As Ghosh exited the court, the crowd surrounded him, shouting for his execution. Despite police presence, a man managed to attack and kill him.
The CBI also arrested Ghosh for financial irregularities at the medical college. Following this, the West Bengal Health Department suspended him under state service rules.
Last month, after a trainee doctor was killed at the medical college, authorities removed Ghosh from his position as Principal. He was later appointed Principal of Kolkata National Medical College and Hospital but was placed on temporary leave due to controversy. The CBI detained him soon after.
