The Vigilance Department has arrested Subarnapur CSO Suresh Kumar Manigarahi on charges of misappropriating assets.
Yesterday, Vigilance officials raided 11 locations, including Suresh’s rented house, office, and his father’s house in Sonepur, as part of an investigation into his illegal accumulation of wealth. The raids took place across Bhubaneswar, Sambalpur, Balangir, Sonepur, and Bargarh.
During the operation, Vigilance seized two buildings, a farm, and 19 plots of land owned by Suresh. Authorities also confiscated 4 acres of land with 500 oak trees, bank deposits worth 1.72 crores, and 1.49 lakhs in cash.
Vigilance officials interrogated Suresh about the seized properties, but he failed to provide satisfactory answers. As a result, they arrested him today.
