West Louisiana Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Gurpreet Gogi tragically shot himself late at night, leading to his death. Doctors at the DMC Hospital in Louisiana declared him dead upon arrival after he was admitted in critical condition.
The incident occurred around midnight, with Gurpreet reportedly shooting himself in the head. Authorities have yet to determine whether the act was intentional or accidental. Investigators are exploring various possibilities, including murder or suicide, to uncover the exact cause of his death.
DCP Tarrant confirmed that the body had been placed in the morgue, and a post-mortem examination will shed more light on the circumstances.
Reacting to the news, Punjab Minister and AAP Chairman Aman Arora expressed his grief, saying, “This is very sad news. Gurpreet was a good and kind-hearted person. Today, we lost him, and his passing deeply saddens me.”
Gurpreet Gogi, who joined the Aam Aadmi Party in 2022, gained prominence after defeating two-time Congress MLA Bharat Bhushan Ashu in the Louisiana Assembly elections. His untimely death has left his supporters and colleagues in shock.
