A segment of the Gokulpuri metro station, situated on the Pink line of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), collapsed on Thursday, resulting in injuries to at least three to four individuals, according to DCP (North-East) Joy Tirke. Upon receiving the report, four fire tenders and a team from the Delhi Police promptly responded to the scene.
According to initial accounts, a portion of the side slab of an operational metro line gave way, leading to the collapse. One individual sustained severe injuries after becoming trapped beneath the rubble. However, he was successfully extricated by personnel from the Delhi Fire Services and promptly transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.
In the interim, additional casualties were transported to the hospital for treatment before the arrival of the Delhi Fire Services unit.
Gokulpuri is located in the eastern part of the national capital, with Ganga Vihar and Yamuna Vihar as its neighboring areas.
