The RG Kar Medical College Hospital is in turmoil following the brutal murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor. The incident has sparked widespread protests and a nationwide call for action from the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA).
According to the autopsy report, the victim was subjected to severe physical assault before her murder. The report reveals that the trainee doctor was beaten extensively, with her glasses shattered and fragments reportedly melting into her eyes. The assault resulted in a broken neck. It has also been disclosed that the victim was raped before her death.
The medical student, who was working as a trainee at the RG Kar Medical College, was found dead on Friday morning after an incident in the seminar hall of the medical center. The autopsy confirms the time of death was between 3 am and 5 am.
Police have arrested Sanjay Roy, a civic volunteer, in connection with the crime. Roy has reportedly confessed to the assault and murder, expressing no remorse and even requesting the death penalty. His mobile phone was found to contain explicit videos, and he had consumed significant amounts of alcohol on the night of the incident. In response to the tragic event, FAIMA has called for a nationwide agitation today, urging the suspension of OPD services across all medical centers to protest the violence and demand justice.
