On the 78th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation from the Red Fort in Delhi on Thursday, August 15. All arrangements for the event have been finalized, with around 6,000 special guests invited to the National Independence Day celebrations. The Indian team from the Paris Olympics will also be present at the ceremony.

The schedule for the day includes NCC cadets taking their positions by 6:20 AM. Following a final check of preparations, the Prime Minister is expected to arrive at the Red Fort by 7:17 AM. He will receive the Guard of Honor at 7:19 AM, meet the three army chiefs at 7:26 AM, and hoist the national flag at 7:30 AM. The Prime Minister’s address to the nation will begin at 7:33 AM, and the National Anthem will be sung at 8:30 AM after his speech. The NCC cadets and other personnel will depart alongside the Prime Minister after the ceremony.

The event at the Red Fort is open to the public, with seating arranged by category. Passes for the event can be obtained both online and offline. To manage the large crowd and ensure security, traffic around the Red Fort and its surrounding areas has been tightly controlled. Special arrangements are in place for those arriving from Noida, and additional parking provisions have been made. In light of heightened security concerns, the Delhi Police Commissioner has also banned aerial devices such as para-gliders and para-motors in the city.
