Police have detained 12 individuals at Paradip police station on suspicion of being Bangladeshi infiltrators. The group, comprising 11 youths and one elderly person, was detained after arriving from Babughat in Kolkata.
The detainees, who speak Bengali, were intercepted this morning at the Paradip bus stand based on information received from a source. The police are currently interrogating them and verifying their identity cards.
Authorities have intensified their checks at several locations including the Paradip bus stand, beach, Tshakkud basti, Nehrubangla, and the fishing port. Marine police are also patrolling the coastal areas, with strict checks being carried out on boats. The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to ascertain the background and intentions of the detained individuals.
