In Nagpur, Maharashtra, four policemen have been suspended after a video of them dancing to Bollywood songs at a police station went viral. The incident occurred on Independence Day, August 15.
After hoisting the national flag at the Tehsil Police Station, the officers set up speakers and played Bollywood music. They danced to the song “Khaike Paan Banaraswala” in their khaki uniforms, which led to public criticism.

Following the video’s release, senior officials took action. DCP Rahul Madane ordered the suspension of ASI Sanjay Patankar, Head Constable Abdul Qaim Gani, Hachashree Giri, and Constable Nirmala Gawli. DCP Madane said their actions harmed the police’s professional image and discipline.
The video highlights the need for police officers to maintain a respectful and disciplined presence, even during celebrations.
