CBI Finds Issues in Kolkata Rape and Murder Case

The CBI’s new report to the Supreme Court reveals serious problems in the Kolkata rape and murder case. The report, submitted today, shows concerns about losing evidence and the presence of multiple footprints at the crime scene.

The Supreme Court asked the CBI to provide a detailed update on the investigation into the assault and murder of a medical student at RG Kar Medical College. The report covers the investigation’s progress, including the number of statements taken and forensic findings. It also criticizes the Kolkata Police for mishandling the crime scene.

The CBI’s report points out that the police failed to secure the scene properly. It lists the people questioned and notes that multiple footprints were found at the site. The report also suggests that some evidence may have been lost due to recent renovations.

Over the past six days, the CBI has closely questioned two main suspects: Sanjay Roy and Sandeep Ghosh, the former principal of the medical college. The agency has conducted forensic tests and reviewed CCTV footage to track Roy’s movements before and after the crime.

The CBI has visited both the crime scene and the hospital several times, collecting samples and mapping the area. Their investigation aims to determine if Sanjay Roy acted alone or if there are other suspects involved. The CBI has submitted a detailed report to the court based on their findings.
