As protests over the Kolkata riots and murders intensify, a new incident has emerged involving Bengali actress Payal Mukherjee. On Friday evening, a biker attacked Mukherjee’s car on South Avenue in South Kolkata.
The incident began when the biker collided with the actress’s car. Enraged, the biker struck the car with a rod and then shattered its windows. He stopped the vehicle, yelled at Mukherjee, and tried to break the car window to reach inside.
Mukherjee livestreamed the attack on Facebook, expressing her distress and calling for help. Her video quickly went viral and included a tag to the Kolkata Police.
After the attack, Mukherjee filed a complaint at Tollyganj police station. The police have arrested the suspect and confiscated his bike. The accused is reportedly a junior commissioned officer at the Kolkata Command Hospital.
