The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is making significant progress in the Kolkata medical college case. Today, the CBI is conducting a polygraph (lie detection) test on Sanjay, a key suspect. The test is being held at Presidency Jail, with a 16-member team from CBI and CFSL, including experts from Kolkata and Delhi, overseeing the procedure.
In the next few days, the CBI will also conduct polygraph tests on four other suspects, including Sandeep Ghosh, the former chairman of RG Kar Medical College. These suspects were present on the third floor during the incident and had dinner together that night.
The CBI has charged Sandeep Ghosh with financial manipulation at RG Kar Medical College. The charge sheet has been submitted to the CJM court. This development increases the chances of Ghosh’s arrest. Allegations of financial mismanagement led former vice-principal Akhtar Alli to file a complaint with the High Court, which directed the case to the CBI. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) initially handled the case before it was transferred.
