Police in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh, arrested a 59-year-old lab assistant for allegedly abusing a nurse for 21 years after promising to marry her. The 36-year-old victim filed a complaint, leading to the arrest.
The nurse reported that the abuse began when she was 15 years old, living with her family in an apartment in Banarasi, where the accused also lived. He exploited her under the guise of helping with her studies and threatened her to stay silent.
For years, the lab assistant continued to exploit the nurse, promising marriage but never following through. The victim later got a job as a nurse at a health center and moved into government quarters, where the accused kept visiting and maintaining physical relations. He even became violent when she mentioned marriage.
Unable to endure the abuse any longer, the nurse finally went to the police. The authorities registered a case, conducted a medical examination of the nurse, and arrested the lab assistant. Further investigation is going on .
