BJP MLA Nitesh Rane sparked controversy by openly threatening violence against the minority community during a rally in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. Addressing a gathering after the rally in support of Ramgiri Maharaj, Rane declared, “Let’s enter the mosque. We will kill one by one.” His remarks have drawn widespread condemnation and led to legal action.
Authorities have filed two First Information Reports (FIRs) against Rane for his alleged hate speech in separate incidents. Police registered the complaints at Srirampur and Topkhana stations. Today, Topkhana police issued a notice and summoned Rane for questioning.
Officials have charged Rane under Sections 302, 153, and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for inciting religious sentiments and making hate speech. Despite the charges, Rane refused to apologize for his comments.
The rally in Ahmednagar, organized to support Ramgiri Maharaj after his derogatory remarks about Prophet Muhammad, witnessed strong participation. AIMIM leader Waris Pathan shared a video of Rane’s speech, accusing the BJP of attempting to incite communal violence ahead of the elections.
