Delhi will name a new Chief Minister today, with senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi Merlen set to take the oath of office. President Draupadi Murmu approved Atishi’s proposal to form the new government after Arvind Kejriwal resigned. The swearing-in ceremony will happen this evening.
At Raj Bhavan, Gopal Roy, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Kailash Gehlot, Imran Hussain, and Mukesh Ahlawat will also take the oath as new cabinet ministers alongside Atishi.
After Arvind Kejriwal resigned as Delhi’s Chief Minister on Tuesday, Atishi sent a proposal to President Murmu to form the government, which the President approved.
Earlier this week, AAP MLAs met after Kejriwal secured bail, and they unanimously chose Atishi as their party leader.
