Ratan Tata Posthumously Nominated for Bharat Ratna by Maharashtra Cabinet

Eminent industrialist Ratan Tata receives the country’s highest honor, the Bharat Ratna, in a posthumous recognition. The Maharashtra Cabinet proposes his name to the Central Government for this prestigious award. The Union government will now decide on this recommendation.

During the Cabinet meeting today, members mourn Ratan Tata’s passing and pass a condolence resolution. The Maharashtra government prepares to forward the Bharat Ratna proposal to central authorities.

Ratan Tata passes away late on Wednesday at the age of 86 at Break Candy Hospital in Mumbai, where he has been undergoing treatment for health issues. His cremation will occur in Worli, Mumbai, following customs.

His body lies in state at the NCPA Lawns at Nariman Point for public viewing from 10 AM today. A large crowd gathers to pay their last respects, including prominent politicians, industry leaders, film stars, athletes, and people from various walks of life.
