A disturbing incident in Bhadrak district has led to the arrest of a husband and mother-in-law in connection with the murder of 27-year-old Tanya Nayak. Authorities accuse Tanya’s father-in-law of killing her by suffocation with a pillow over a demand for one lakh rupees.
Tanya married Ratikant Sahu in 2021, but her life took a dark turn as she faced mental torture from her husband, father-in-law, and mother-in-law. Her family claims that her father-in-law repeatedly pressured her to bring money from her family.
On October 15, Tanya’s family reported her murder to the police. Following the complaint, officers from Chandbali police station arrested her husband and mother-in-law and took them to court. The investigation continues as police look into other potential suspects involved in the case. Tanya leaves behind a 16-month-old daughter.
