
Today is the sixth and final day of the Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, China. India won 17 medals including 6 gold on the first day, 17 medals including 3 gold on the second day, 30 medals including 6 gold on the third day, 18 medals including 3 gold on the fourth day and 17 medals including 7 gold on the fifth day. As a result, India’s total number of medals reached 99, including 25 gold, 29 silver and 45 bronze medals.
However, today, on the final day, India started its triumphant journey with gold. Dilip Mahadu Gavit won the medal in men’s T-47 400m event. Dilip has achieved this feat in 49.48 seconds. As a result, India’s total number of gold medals has reached 26 and the total number of medals has reached 100. For the first time in the history of Asian Para Sports, India’s medal tally has crossed the hundred mark. This is certainly a matter of glory for India.
India has created a new record by winning the most medals as well as the most golds in the Hangzhou Olympics. This year, a total of 339 Indian athletes are participating in this event, including 196 men and 113 women. 188 athletes from India participated in the Jakarta edition of Indonesia held 4 years ago.
