BJP Unveils Star Campaign List for Jharkhand Assembly Elections

Today, the BJP announced its star campaign list for the upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand. This 40-member list features prominent names, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

Before becoming a star campaigner, Chief Minister Majhi had previously visited Jharkhand. Now, he will actively campaign for the BJP, seeking votes from the people. Majhi ranks 17th on the star campaign list released by the party.

Dharmendra Pradhan, who won the Sambalpur Lok Sabha seat and currently serves as a Union Minister, also appears in the star campaign list at number 12.

The border region with Odisha has become a focal point, as many areas in Jharkhand, such as Sardeikala and Jamshedpur, have a significant Oriya-speaking population. The BJP aims to attract these voters by including Majhi and Pradhan in their campaign efforts.

In addition to Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Majhi, several central ministers are part of the star campaigners’ list. The roster also includes Chief Ministers from BJP-ruled states. Notable figures include BJP National President JP Nadda, Union Minister Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, and Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Prominent Chief Ministers featured on the list include Assam’s Himanta Biswasharma, Haryana’s Nayab Singh Saini, Uttar Pradesh’s Yogi Aditya Nath, Madhya Pradesh’s Mohan Jadhav, and Chhattisgarh’s Bishnu Deo Sai.

Champai Soren and Sita Soren, who recently joined the BJP from JMM, will also serve as star campaigners for the party.

Polling for the 81 assembly seats in Jharkhand will occur in two phases: the first on November 13 and the second on November 20. The announcement of the results will take place on November 23. Candidates must submit their nominations for the first phase by October 25 and for the second phase by October 29.
