Three youths stopped a 10-year-old girl on her way to school in the Pilibhit area of Uttar Pradesh, threatened her, and forced her to drink poison. The minor, a fifth-grade student from Devipura village, fell seriously ill after consuming the poison and her family rushed her to a medical centre.
The police launched an investigation immediately after receiving the news. They began searching various locations for the suspects, using CCTV footage as evidence. The police have formed four teams to arrest the accused.
The girl remains in critical condition at a private hospital. A senior police officer visited the medical centre, met with the victim’s family, and assured them that the authorities would soon apprehend the perpetrators. He also suggested that the attack might relate to a dispute between the girl’s father, Ram Avatar, and his brother. The police are exploring all possible angles.
