Stone pelting erupted in front of the royal palace in Udaipur, Rajasthan, during the coronation of the new head of the royal family.BJP leader Vishwaraj Singh, appointed as the head of the former royal family of Mewad, arrived at the City Palace for his Rajavishek. The ceremony followed the death of his father, Mahendra Singh Mewad, earlier this month. Vishwaraj was preparing to take the throne in a traditional ascension ceremony, with the backing of his followers.
However, a confrontation occurred when Vishwaraj’s grandfather blocked his entry to the royal palace. The situation quickly escalated as the two sides clashed, leading to a scuffle. The tensions boiled over when stone pelting broke out, injuring three individuals in the chaos. As the violence escalated, the police arrived at the scene and used force to disperse the crowd.
A large police force was deployed to restore order, and the situation was eventually brought under control. District Magistrate Arvind Kumar Poswal reassured the public, confirming that the situation was stable. He also mentioned that ongoing discussions were taking place between representatives of the royal palace, local community members, and other stakeholders to resolve the issue.
