A major revelation has emerged regarding Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, with allegations of deception and a bid for power. Former Saudi intelligence officer Saad al-Jabri has accused the Crown Prince of forging his father’s signature to declare war against Yemen’s Houthi rebels.
According to al-Jabri, Mohammed bin Salman issued a royal decree for a ground attack on the Houthis by faking the signature of King Salman. The report claims that while the US supported Saudi Arabia’s air strikes, bin Salman proceeded with the ground offensive under false pretenses, disregarding the king’s actual stance.
At the age of 29, while serving as Saudi Arabia’s Defense Minister, bin Salman reportedly took this drastic step amid King Salman’s declining health. Al-Jabri suggests that bin Salman’s actions were motivated by a desire to solidify his claim to the throne by dragging Saudi Arabia into war.
Al-Jabri stated that a trusted official from the Saudi Home Ministry confirmed bin Salman’s forgery of the royal decree. Despite these serious allegations, Saudi Arabia has yet to issue a formal response.
The war, which Mohammed bin Salman predicted would end swiftly, has dragged on for nearly a decade, resulting in over 150,000 casualties.
