An Anganwadi worker was attacked at the Brahmatikiri Anganwadi center in Chandbali block, Bhadrak district, after returning Subhadra forms from ineligible beneficiaries. The worker, Diptirekha Bal, has reported the incident to Basandra police station. Three people have been charged, and the police are investigating.
Diptirekha’s complaint states that Subhadra, a beneficiary, received a form through a helper while Diptirekha was away. Upon her return, Diptirekha checked the beneficiary’s Aadhaar card and found he was underage. She asked for the form back, which led to a confrontation.
A group then entered the Anganwadi center, damaged property, and attacked Diptirekha. She filed a complaint at the Basandra police station. The police have opened a case against three suspects and are working to make arrests.
“The arrests will be made soon,” said Debraj Jena, Officer-in-Charge of the Basandra police station. The incident took place less than three days ago.
