BJP National Vice President and Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda achieved his first major success as Delhi Election In-charge today, as Delhi’s ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former minister Harsaran Singh Bali, along with his son Gurmeet Singh, joined the BJP.
Mr Bali and his son formally received the Padma in New Delhi, with Delhi Pradesh Chairman Virendra Sachdeva, and BJP leaders Subhas Arya and Subhas Sachdeva present.
Due to Baijayant Panda’s effective strategy, influential AAP leaders in Delhi are beginning to shift to the BJP. The BJP has announced that additional leaders will also receive the Padma in the coming days.
Harsaran Singh Bali’s move marks a return to the BJP, as he initially joined the party before switching to the AAP in January 2020 in the presence of then-Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
From 1993 to 2013, Mr. Bali served as the MLA from Hari Nagar Constituency and held the position of Industries Minister in Delhi under Madan Lal Khurana’s administration.
As Delhi approaches its next Assembly elections, BJP has entrusted Baijayant Panda to lead their efforts as election in-charge. Bali’s alignment with the BJP adds to the strength of Panda’s strategic efforts for a BJP victory.
