In Bangladesh, the period of uncertainty persists as Brigadier General (Retired) M. Sakhawat Hussain has been removed from his position as Home Minister just nine days after the interim government’s formation. Hussain, known for his fair and inclusive approach, faced opposition from student leaders who had recently ousted Sheikh Hasina, leading to his resignation from the Home Ministry within eight days.
Hussain has been reassigned to the Ministry of Textiles and Jute. Brigadier General (Retired) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has taken over the Home Ministry and will also oversee the Agriculture Ministry. On Friday, Chowdhury was one of four new advisors added to the interim government.
