The odds for BookMyShow CEO Ashish Hemrazani have increased as the Mumbai Police issued a summons. Specifically, both Hemrazani and the technical head of BookMyShow must appear before the Mumbai Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) on Saturday regarding the Coldplay concert ticket black marketing case.
In this context, the police will interrogate them and record their statements. The Mumbai Police summoned the CEO after lawyer Amit Bess filed a complaint, accusing the booking platform of black-marketing tickets for the Coldplay concert set to take place at DY Patil Stadium from January 19 to 25, 2025.
Furthermore, Bess claims that tickets originally priced at ₹2,500 are now being resold for up to ₹3 lakh by certain parties and influencers. He alleged that BookMyShow defrauded the public and Coldplay fans, demanding that authorities file an FIR against the company for fraud.
Earlier in the investigation, the EOW recorded statements and identified several brokers involved in ticket black marketing. As the investigation continues, police expect to summon other individuals for questioning soon.
